This year I made the decision to take a film only photography class. The first couple of days I was convinced that I wouldn’t learn a single thing that I didn’t already know. A week or two pass by and I realize how much I rely on my digital camera’s to do all the work for me. After one or two darkroom sessions I feel it’s great, to know that my pictures are safe once I’ve taken them, to be able to see what I get as soon as I take them, to be able to shoot more then 30 frames, to be able to have the correct exposure every single time, to not have to spend hours of my time to get 2 or 3 pictures to show up. I’m glad to be born in this day and age. Over the past few weeks I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to have access to the school’s dark room for two hours every school day. FM2 in hand, I’ve attempted to capture the world around me.
